The TMS Foundation supports professionals in the early stages of their careers through professional recognition awards, opportunities for travel and presenting work, leadership development programs, and networking with society leaders.

Early Career Faculty Fellow Award

By acknowledging the early accomplishments of an assistant professor, this award provides important professional recognition at a key stage of career development. Further, recipients also benefit from valuable growth opportunities by delivering a tutorial lecture and programming a symposium with technical support and guidance.

Emerging Leaders Alliance Program

The TMS Foundation sponsors attendance at this multi-society program which provides unique leadership development opportunities for attendees. Early-career engineering and scientific professionals on track for leadership roles in their organizations can strengthen their nontechnical skills in a setting that allows them to interact across disciplines and obtain foundational, executive-level knowledge, while weaving themes of social responsibility and environmental stewardship throughout the training curriculum.

International Scholar Awards

This exchange program offers young professional members the opportunity to present their work at international conferences and to grow their international network. It is jointly operated by TMS, the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS), and the Japan Institute of Metals and Materials (JIM).
