Members of the Material Advantage student program and/or the TMS Graduate Program are invited to submit their most eloquent essays on global or national issues or their finest technical research papers for the TMS Best Paper Contest. This contest is open to members of the Material Advantage student program, both undergraduate and graduate, and/or members of the TMS Graduate Program. Papers can relate to any field of metallurgy or materials science. We encourage you to display original thought and creativity in the development of your essay, but the work should also include a comprehensive bibliography.

Award Details

A total of four papers are recognized each year: two recipients are selected in the undergraduate division and two in the graduate division. Award recipients can receive up to $250 to offset the cost of traveling to the TMS Annual Meeting & Exhibition to accept their award in person. This award is funded through the TMS Foundation.
