JOM: The Magazine
News and features on TMS, its members, and the professions it serves
Inside the August 2020 Magazine
The August Magazine features an article series by the TMS Education Committee, addressing STEM education issues at critical transition points in students’ careers—high school to college; community college to a four-year institution; and undergraduate to graduate school—from a variety of perspectives at national labs and universities. Graduate students and early-career professionals will also be interested in an overview article on landing a tenure-track faculty position at a research-focused institution penned by TMS member Victoria Miller, University of Florida. The August issue also debuts the 2021 JOM Editorial Calendar, including an overview of topics and a look at new features in the online Editorial Calendar, while August Member News shares information on two topical collections for the Journal of Electronic Materials.
