Hands On: TMS 2009 Annual Meeting Makes Service a Priority
Posted October 13, 2008

Last year, at the TMS 2008 Annual Meeting, more than 50 meeting attendees rolled up their sleeves to paint, build playground equipment, and plant flowers on the formerly dreary campus of a New Orleans school that had been damaged by Hurricane Katrina. As a result of this one-day service project, students at the Mary D. Coghill Elementary School in New Orleans, Louisiana, still have a cheerful place to perform their studies.

In 2009, TMS hopes to continue this trend of leaving its meeting site a brighter place. The TMS 2009 Annual Meeting will take place in San Francisco, California, and TMS is partnering with Hands On San Francisco to engage in a new community service project.

All TMS Annual Meeting attendees and guests are invited to participate for free in this year's service project. This year’s service project will take place on Saturday, February 14, so participants should plan to arrive at the meeting a day early. For a full schedule and more details visit the Community Service Project web page.

Sign up to volunteer in the TMS community service project when you register online or e-mail TMS Meeting Services.

TMS is organizing this special day with the help of Hands On Bay Area, an affiliate of the Hands On Network and the Points of Light Institute, which organizes projects to meet critical community needs.
